How We Met: On a message board! Nerdy, right? We both posted on a Classic Comics forum (which he moderated). Across a number of years (going on at least eight, I believe), I learned that he was an ex-Minnesotan who now taught literature- and comics-related courses in Florida. Totally awesome!

So now I gotta apologize. His face looks all wrong, there’s no strength to any of the lines… I was tired. Angry. I’d had a bad day and the Wisconsin Senate had just busted some unions. See? Drawing is totally emotional for me.

How We Met: I think he was dating my friend. We have a lot of friends in common. He’s a smart, cool dude, and look, he’s cute, too! Also, he posted a great picture for me to draw: one-point perspective in the background, he’s in motion, and it’s high-res with lots of clear lines and dark blacks. It’s definitely been the easiest to draw so far. Didn’t stop me from making his hand too big, though.

Note: hands? glasses? Hard to draw.
